One of the founders of The Vision Institute of South Carolina, Ms. McKown currently serves as President of the governing board of TVI. With experience in education, social services and administration, she has worked with families of infants, students K-12, working adults and senior citizens. She was recognized in 2010 by the National Federation of the Blind of SC with its distinguished service award. Ms. McKown earned a B.A. in psychology from Columbia College and a M.A. in teaching special education - visual impairment from USC.
